We are looking for a Distribution Lead who will have a rare opportunity to scale the insurance sales and business development functions over the next 24 months and well beyond.  Working side-by-side with the founding team, this person will be a key contributor to turning Koop into a go-to brand for millions of enterprise insurance customers.

Job Description:

  • Deeply understand the insurance needs of technology SMEs across a variety of industries
  • Develop and execute insurance distribution strategy across direct and brokerage channels
  • Meet premium production KPIs by systematically growing the client base and engaging brokers
  • Bring in new brokerage relationships to the platform and grow the existing broker appointments to reach required premium production milestones
  • Curate high-quality databases of insurance leads for multiple business lines
  • Launch compelling product marketing campaigns to drive conversion of customers and broker partners to the platform
  • Solve customers’ insurance challenges and help them reduce their risk using the platform features
  • Collect customer and broker partner feedback and provide valuable inputs to Product, Engineering, and Operations functions
  • Create trust with customers and broker partners by providing excellent customer service
  • Find creative ways to promote the company’s brand and build customer loyalty
  • Help structure innovative insurance products for a wide range of emerging risks
  • Navigate complex regulatory environments of the compliance and insurance industries
  • Work with cross-functional teams in Distribution, Insurance, Engineering, Operations, and Research
  • Report to and work closely with the C-Suite of the company
  • Be a subject matter expert and thought leader in the GRC (Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance), security, and insurance areas
  • Represent Koop Technologies and own the emerging risks narratives

Job Requirements:

  • Active insurance producer license or an ability to obtain one
  • Strong understanding of the insurance brokerage and MGA markets
  • Experience in successfully scaling insurance products across various distribution channels
  • Experience in building large-scale brokerage partnerships across multiple lines of business
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and produce new business independently
  • Demonstrated ability to serve complex customer and broker partner problems and requests
  • Ability to stay ahead of the market and research the latest trends
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and terms quickly and use them in customer engagements
  • Ability to keep a sharp focus on the priority deliverables
  • Founder mindset, tremendous work ethic, and excellent written/verbal skills


  • At least 1 year of experience at an insurance technology company, brokerage, or MGA in a junior-to-mid-level distribution role
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Arts, Science, or related academic fields
  • Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills
  • Excellent sales and product marketing skills
  • Excellent communication and written skills


  • Existing retail or wholesale brokerage relationships
  • Familiarity with Errors & Omissions and Cyber insurance coverages
